The commercially rated GPR370 Multi-Press Rack from Body-Solid is a heavy-duty workout rack with a barbell set and easy-to-use adjustments, and it comes with a lifetime warranty for in-home use. The lifetime warranty is comprehensive and impressive, and even covers normal wear and tear.

This rack is rock solid built with 11-guage steel tubing, and it definitely lives up to Body-Solid’s boasts of being able to last one’s lifetime.

In the world of strength training, free weight training is where it’s at, but in order to maximize the session, and really push the envelope, the one working out has to feel secure. It’s one thing to feel this way in the gym. It’s something entirely different to accomplish this in one’s own home. However, this is exactly what Body-Solid has managed to do with the design of the GPR370 Multi-Press Rack.

Body-Solid designed the GPR370 with an extra-wide 4-point stance in order to maximize stability. Whether you have this downstairs on concrete in the basement, or upstairs on a carpeted floor, the device feels substantial. That’s exactly the confidence and the mindset one requires in order for one to take the right approach to freeweight training. The 14-position gun rack supports up to more than 1,000 lbs.

The Body-Solid Multi-Press Rack also features a 7-degree reverse pitch in order to accommodate your body’s natural lifting movement. Safety and lift-off positions are exactly where you want them so that racking the bar is always predictable and comfortable. This is one of the primary problems areas in racks built for home use, and in our estimation seems as if Body Solid made it a point to get this aspect of the rack right.

The GPR370 ships disassembled, so you’ll have to put this one together yourself. Let’s just start by saying that to call the assembly a bear is an understatement. It’s not that anything is particularly hard in and of itself, but the entire process is very involved, and the included instructions leave much to be desired. It probably helps a little if you’ve had experienced putting together gym equipment before, but each of these builds is its own animal. Expect a solid two hours for assembly for the mechanically inclined. In addition, you can save a great deal of time by having a second pair of hands.

Once you’ve assembled it, the GPR370 is a complete joy, and you’re ready to start with squats, calf raises, lunges, dead lifts, upright rows, and a wide array of other power building exercises. Add a free weight bench (not included) for increased workout capacity, and start performing bench, incline, decline, and shoulder press routines.

What do Customers have to say about the Body Solid Rack?

“I have very good things to say about Body-Solid. I have at least five of their pieces of equipment in my home exercise regimen. Their equipment is well-designed, with the user in mind, well-built, and, though made in China, is constructed with excellent quality control. It is, as they advertised, built to last a lifetime. “

“The rack is extremely stable and solid and I highly recommend this unit to anyone wishing to build or upgrade their home home gym. I would rate this higher if I could. “

The bottom line is that the Body Solid Multi-Press Rack is a worthwhile investment for the workout warrior who is serious about working out at home. At the time of this review, the GPR370 was retailing at approximately $100 below MSRP. Less than a half a grand for a comprehensive multi-press rack with a lifetime warranty is an excellent deal.

Time to trim down, or build muscle, or simply shape up to feel healthier? A squat rack is an excellent choice for building lean muscle mass and strengthening your heart. In addition, the PowerLine PSS60X Squat Rack by Body Solid is designed for safety, durability, and comfort as you pursue your fitness goals.

PowerLine PSS60X Safety

Safety is the first priority when lifting weights. The PowerLine PSS60X is constructed of heavy-gauge steel to hold even the heaviest weights. The low profile, fixed-frame design provides gym-quality stability for this at-home piece of equipment. Its advanced carbon steel alloy offers an exceptionally high strength-to-weight ratio as well as impact absorption. The 2-by-2-inch steel uprights are welded jointly with the lower crossbeam with an inverse “Y” construction. The welds are four-sided for additional strength rather than the industry-standard two side-stitch welds. The extra wide and extra deep base increases the rack’s stability, ensuring that it will not tip over while you are lifting.

The rack itself weighs a hefty 51 pounds and measures 30 inches to 60 inches high by 37 inches long by 48 inches wide. The rack is protected by an electrostatically applied powder coat finish – the same finish used on industrial machinery – to guarantee that your equipment will last for years. Body Solid is so confident in the construction and safety of its product that it offers a ten-year warranty on the rack’s frame and a one-year warranty on all other parts.

PowerLine Squat Rack Functionality

Comfort and variety are key to any exercise program. Ergonomically designed, the PowerLine PSS60X offers 3-inch incrementally adjustable bar supports to enable you to place the weight bar at the proper height for any exercise. Use the rack with a flat bench to perform basic chest presses. The adjustable supports are also ideal for incline and decline bench presses. Adjust the bar supports again, and you have the ability to safely perform curls, upright rows, shoulder shrugs, and many other exercises. Do not forget the basic, old-fashioned squat lift. Adjust the bar supports again, and you have the ability to safely perform squat lifts with plenty of room to position yourself beneath the bar and plenty of strength in the PowerLine PSS60X Squat Rack to catch the bar at the end of the lift.
Drawbacks

There are a few downside issues with this rack. It does tend to move when using it to lift heavier weights, which can be corrected easily by placing a rubber mat underneath the rack. Additionally, the PowerLine PSS60X does not include safety side catchers. A spotter should be on-hand for heavy lifting. Barbells, collars and weights are not included with the PowerLine PSS60X. When purchasing a bar bear in mind that, due to its solid-frame construction, the PSS60X only accommodates a bar with a minimum of forty-five inches of length between the plates.

Customer Reviews

“I have very limited space so a “cage”-type squat rack just wouldn’t do for me. Also, I do reps with a little under 400 pounds so it couldn’t be a rinky-dink thin-walled round-tube pair of uprights like you see bolted onto cheap weight benches. This rack is a decent compromise for those of us with a little space and the desire to squat fairly heavy in that space.”

“Sturdy as can be. However I’d recommend putting the back end of the feet against a wall or something or it can shift around a bit when you’re putting the bar back on the rack after a heavy bench. Or at least have it on a rubber mat. It would be good to have a spotter with you so it doesn’t tilt back if you slam your weight back on the rack so it doesn’t tip over.”

Overview of the PowerLine PSS60X Squat Rack

The PowerLine PSS60X Squat Rack is an affordable, comfortable, and durable addition to any home gym. Body Solid is nationally-recognized for its quality exercise equipment, supplying military and government installations, police and fire workout rooms, rehab and medical facilities, schools and universities, and sports teams with high quality weight training equipment.

Now, with the PowerLine PSS60X, you can bring all of that experience, design, and value into your home gym with this low profile, stable, and durable squat rack. Easy to use and easy to adjust, the most difficult part of owning a PowerLine PSS60X is deciding how much weight you want to try to lift next.
